Laura Andrianopoli
Politecnico di Torino

May 22

We are happy to announce a new seminar by Laura Andrianopoli from Politecnico di Torino. Her research interests are mainly focused on Theoretical particle physics, more specifically supergravity, supersymmetry and quantum gravity. Dr. Laura also was awarded with Premio “Le Scienze” conferred by Rivista “Le Scienze” for the internationally recognized level of her researches in supergravity.

The event will take place in the Auditorio Ninoslav Bralic at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, here we leave you the details of the talk

Title:
AdS3 supergravity with chiral torsion and its BPS states.

Abstract:
I will present some recent results on torsion deformations of 3-dimensional Einstein-Cartan gravity, which behave as a chiral matter-source. They involve a peculiar interplay between the vector and the singlet irreducible components of the torsion which feature a formal analogy with the equation for a Beltrami fluid.
“Beltrami-torsion” can describe a torsional deformation of the BTZ black hole which, in some cases, removes the causal singularity.
I will also discuss the presence of Killing spinors in the deformed geometry, and show the corresponding supersymmetric background obtained as a torsional deformation of N = 2 Achucarro-Townsend supergravity.
