We are pleased to announce an upcoming seminar featuring Marco Bianchi from Universidad San Sebastián. Marco has an impressive academic background, having completed postdoctoral research at institutions such as Humboldt University of Berlin, Queen Mary University of London, and the Niels Bohr Institute (NBI). His work focuses on areas such as AdS-CFT Correspondence, Extended Supersymmetry, and Integrable Field Theories.
The event will take place at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Sede Errázuriz. Here we leave you the details of the talk
Title:
Two holographic problems on which help is welcome.
Abstract:
In this talk, I will present two QFT observables that are theoretically open to a holographic description, although a complete description has yet to be achieved. First, the two-point functions of certain protected operators in N=4 SYM, when computed using dimensional regularization at weak coupling, exhibit uniform transcendentality. Notably, the leading term in the regulator can be exactly determined to all orders in perturbation theory, suggesting a potential for a holographic calculation at strong coupling. Second, the expectation value of supersymmetric Wilson loops in the ABJM model can be exactly determined through supersymmetric localization, providing an interpolation between weak and strong coupling. However, this result includes imaginary contributions, for which I will present recent progress in interpreting at weak coupling. The holographic interpretation of these contributions remains unresolved.
