On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, the Second scientific and technological fair was held at the Liceo Juan Rusque Portal in Nogales. On this clear and sunny day, basic and secondary school students gathered to show their scientific and technological projects carried out this year. Among the projects were “The Hydromobile”, “Can Crusher” or “Solar Heater”, and the topics covered ranged from the Morse alphabet, genetics, colors, ecology, to the solar system. Candy, tomato plants and seeds from native trees were given away.
The five members of the jury were impressed by all this imagination, knowledge and skills of the students, they had the difficult task of choosing the best projects. Among them, Professor Olivera Mišković from the PUCV and the member of the HolographyCL project team, participated for the second time in this event, invited by Professor Patricio Vásquez, enjoying the explosion of ideas and skills of the young scientists from Quillota , Nogales, Melón, Viña del Mar, La Calera and La Cruz.
This fair held in Nogales demonstrates how a little initiative, goodwill, and financial and logistical support for the school can produce great changes in the motivation of young students and boost their interests to become future scientists and innovators.
